Youth for Seva (YFS)

Youth for Seva (YFS) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2007 with the aim of creating a platform for youth to participate in community service and social welfare activities. YFS operates in various cities across India and has a volunteer network of over 12,000 young people.

One of YFS’s flagship initiatives is Navoudit 23, which aims to provide quality education to underprivileged children in rural areas of India. The program was launched in 2012 and currently operates in four states of India, namely Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.

Navoudit 23 focuses on improving the quality of education in government schools by providing academic support to students, teacher training, and infrastructure development. The program has a holistic approach that involves the community in the education process by organizing parent-teacher meetings, community mobilization drives, and health camps for children.

One of the unique aspects of Navoudit 23 is its emphasis on technology-based learning. The program uses tablets loaded with educational software to make learning more interactive and engaging for students. This approach has proven to be effective in improving student attendance and academic performance.

YFS volunteers play a crucial role in implementing Navoudit 23. They work closely with government school teachers to provide academic support to students and conduct training sessions to improve their teaching skills. Volunteers also organize extracurricular activities such as sports, arts, and music to promote overall development among children.

Navoudit 23 has made a significant impact in the communities where it operates. The program has helped improve student enrollment, attendance, and academic performance in government schools. It has also helped build a sense of community ownership among parents and teachers, who are now more actively involved in the education process.
